Willow & Lark Yarns Giveaway

January 5, 2018 Category: Giveaways + Sales

As we roll into the new year, I’ve decided to be daring and to constantly venture out and try new stitches, techniques and yarns! My design philosophy has always been to channel a sense of playfulness into every piece, while keeping it chic – Which is distinctively reflected in my work, resulting in timeless pieces with hints of quirky touches inspired by the beauty of rich, natural landscapes all around us. I always aim for comfort, warmth and versatility whilst closely paying attention to detail… Recently a little birdie delivered to my door the most beautiful collection of wools I’ve seen in a long time, which I’m excited to share with you all today (hopefully offering some inspiration for this new season in life)!

Willow & Lark yarns celebrate classic Britishness in all its glory, from the smell of golden apple crumble and steaming cups of tea to striding out in a pair of old wellies through the glorious woodland. Their family consists of four beautifully spun wools, Ramble, Woodland, Plume and Nest, all in an array of delicious colours and full of loft and character. These bright new yarns with accompanying patterns have been crafted and designed to reflect the delightful quirkiness of Britain – evoking natural landscapes in the colour palette, and original thinking in design.

Life in the countryside inspires people all over the world, myself included as I grew up (and still live) in a small town nestled in amongst the rollings hills. Time spent enjoying varied fields swaying in the wind, or a gentle brook quietly singing a melody evoke a sense of calmness and tranquility in my everyday life. Combining my serene surroundings with my love of crochet creates absolute bliss, so no wonder my work constantly reflects my love of nature… Making Willow & Lark’s delightful yarn collections a match made in heaven!

Ramble

As robust as it is delicious, this splendid super soft DK superwash wool is full of loft and character. Rambles twist brings exquisite stitch definition, making it a fabulous yarn for textured stitches and lace while its scrumptious colour palette is full of character! Cosy and whimsical, Ramble comes in 30 heirloom shades including pastels, stunning neutrals and some bold accent colours – Perfect for colourwork!

Woodland

Delicious tweed shot through with dappled neps of colour, Woodland is a DK weight wool which offers a touch of alpaca to give a much softer handle than most other tweed yarns. The twist is defined enough to bring a plump definition to ribs and bobbles, and comes in 20+ rich tones to pick and choose from, helping you to create exquisite cardigans and sweaters to snuggle in come autumn!

Plume

Fine, delicate and whimsical, Plume conjures up memories of lazy, hazy summer days. A soft silk-mohair mix in an array of elegant, romantic colours, Plume’s gentle twist creates shawls and cardigans with the most fabulous drape and swish, offering pieces a “barely-there” quality, wonderful for lightweight designs this spring.

Nest

A blend of the softest merino wool and cashmere, with just a dash of Tencel for durability, this DK weight yarn comes in a range of colours that echo the British countryside. Full of vintage charm and character, Nestt’s whimsical colour palette ranges from brights and pastels to muted heirloom shades, making this plump, lofty wool warm enough for coats and little jackets – Creating pieces enjoyable to wear and give!

I found it rather difficult to pick just one of their wools to showcase, but after much thought (and crocheting) I landed upon Ramble, their super soft DK superwash wool. Being the delightfully sweet and thoughtful company that they are, Willow & Lark included this detailed colour-card, a handwritten card and my own little “Willow & Lark” mug along with some tea to brew and enjoy in it.

With it’s exemplary stitch definition and glorious colour palette, Ramble is a fabulous yarn for textured stitches and designs that require attention to detail and exceptional quality. A wonderfully soft choice for any DK pattern! Full of loft and character, it’ll work up into snuggly sweaters and cardigans that’ll keep you warm as toast, and that you’ll never want to take off.

Willow & Lark have been incredibly generous, so much so that they want to give you the opportunity to explore the softness and stitch definition of their splendidly British wool for yourself! We will be choosing ONE winner who will receive 15 balls of their delicious “Ramble” wool, in the winners choice of colours.

I would love to work with this type of yarn. I have been crocheting for a year and loving it. My task at this time is if I make a scarf and hat for someone, I then make and donate a set. It is a small way to give back.
I would love to try and work with this yarn.

I loved to read your review. I am from Stellenbosch, South Africa and always admire the lovely wool that Mary Jane’s tearoom and Little Cotton Rabbits use to knit their beautiful creations. I am a widow that lives with my daughter and I crochet blankets, booties, beanies and soft toys that I donate to an organization called… Favoured little ones. They collect and distribute baby clothes to premature babies and mother’s in prison with little babies. I would love to use this beautiful wool for my future projects as I cannot afford to import this yarn from Brittian. I am hopeful. Have a wonderful week ahead.

Hi, I was really glad to find out that you have another giveaway:) I have seen Willow and Lark yarns on loveknitting, and I would really like to get yarn for one of the projects, but it is a bit expensive for now unfortunately. I saw really nice sweaters made in Willow and Lark on loveknitting, such as Elizabeth Top, Victoria Jumper, and Catherine Cardigan, and I would love to make one of those for my mom. I live far away from my parents now, and I like making presents for them, especially something that I make myself. I guess a knitted present is very special gift for people I care about and love.
