Wool And The Gang – Peggy Cardigan Crochet Kit Giveaway

Some of you might remember that a couple of months ago Wool And The Gang and I teamed up on a giveaway and quirky Ivory Ocean Slouchy Beanie pattern!
It was such a hit last time that the creative people over at Wool And The Gang reached out to me once again to see if I’d be interested in trying out one of their kits this time, and potentially hosting another giveaway!.. Slight confession, I might have let out a squeal of pure excitement, shortly followed with a whirlwind of emails about which kit I would work with and be giving away.

If you’ve never heard of Wool And The Gang, you’ve been missing out! Their website is overflowing with beautiful yarns and modern knitting and crochet pattern kits, with each project featuring a unique and creative twist!.. I also love the fact that they have something for everyone – from the most experienced crocheters to absolute beginners!

After some deliberation I eventually decided on trying out their Peggy Cardigan Crochet Kit, and boy am I glad that I did!

It wasn’t long before I heard a loud knock at the front door, and upon opening the door I discovered a large parcel neatly placed on my doorstep. I excitedly opened it to find this paper bag inside, stocked to the brim with everything needed to crochet this adorable cardigan.

Inside were 6 of the softest balls of cotton Aran yarn I have ever felt, named the Shiny Happy Cotton (how quirky). It was love at first sight, touch and stitch! Included also was a crochet hook (6.5mm), tapestry needle, and “Peggy Cardigan” crochet pattern.

For the past year or so, I’ve crocheted with cotton yarn almost every single day, especially when designing hats and booties! While working with this 100% Pima Cotton Yarn I was quite pleased with how it stacked up against some of my usual favourites. The yarn is as soft and smooth as silk, and the stitch definition is wonderful too!

This is only one of the colours available, but as you can already see the colours are very elegant and rich which would make any project pop!
The colour I went with in the end was Spearmint Green, which I think creates a very pleasant and feminine appearance.

I couldn’t wait to get started on my cardigan, as I haven’t really crocheted many garments in the past. It was a welcome challenge! The weather here in Australia is also busy turning warmer, so having a lightweight cardigan on hand on those slightly cool evenings is always welcome.

The “Peggy Cardigan” crochet pattern came in the form of an adorable little booklet. Inside the  booklet there was also a detailed stitch library to help make the learning process all the more enjoyable (perfect for beginners)!

This is my beautiful Peggy Cardigan (in progress!)… I am delighted with how the cardigan finally turned out, and I am so proud to have finally finished crocheting a cardigan, and just in time to enjoy wearing it during the later stages of Spring!

If you have been wanting to try out one of Wool And The Gang’s kits for some while, I have some exciting news for you… They’ve provided my readers with a special code “WATGHOPEFULHONEY” to get 20% off your order! (This discount is only valid till the 13th of November)

There really were so many great kits to choose from!.. Some of my other favourites included the Any Time Circle Scarf and the Sun is Shining Top… In saying that, I might just have to crochet the Piazza Shoulder Bag next time!

The Peggy Cardigan Kit Contains:

  • 6 balls of WATG’s Shiny Happy Cotton (100% Pima Cotton,  I’m sure that makes your crocheting fingers tingle in excitement just as much as mine!)
  • 6.5mm (K/10 1/2) crochet hook
  • The “Peggy Cardigan” crochet pattern (In the form of a cute little booklet)
  • A small sewing needle – To sew in all those ends!
  • “Wool And The Gang’s” packaging (To keep all your crochet goodies together)
Level: Advanced

This giveaway is open worldwide, and closes on the 15th of November (AEST).
Good luck everyone!
