Worn This Way Hat – Crochet Kit Giveaway

Some of you may remember that last year, with the help of one of Wool And The Gang’s handy kits, I crocheted my very first pair of shoes, the Copacabana Espadrilles! I loved wearing them so much so, that when WATG released their summer-friendly collection some weeks ago and asked if I’d like to try out one of the kits, I squealed in excitement, ready for a new challenge.

From the moment the “Worn This Way Hat” kit was sent my way, I was extremely eager to get my hands on some of their newest (and incredibly popular) Ra-Ra-Raffia yarn… Which is not only vegan, but also recyclable, azo free and non toxic – So basically no nasties! I’ve never worked with raffia yarn before, but I was pleasantly surprised by just how easy it was to crochet with, and how it worked up in no time at all over the weekend.
As per usual, the WATG pattern supplied in the kit was well written and easy-to-follow, making the learning process all the more fun and enjoyable! I was also grateful for the helpful gauge guide, as when comparing my tension I was a bit on the looser side… So for those of you who like to live life on the edge and never gauge check, I’d always recommend you doing this, as it can save you hours of work and frustration. I just switched to one of my 4mm hooks, which was an incredibly easy fix and created the exact hat size I was after!

I would wear this cute hat to outside concerts at a local tourist attraction that is a mansion on the hill overlooking the Hudson River, Mills Mansion. During the summer my friends and I go every Wednesday to sit and listen to different music every time, sip wine and eat cheese and crackers. I am a Melanoma survivor so I always wear hats when I am outside for an extended time. Thanks for the chance to win this kit.

I always miss the good ones but would like to thank you for posting items. Since I do enjoy crocheting and I purposely enjoy looking at a picture and recreating it without a pattern,using my own eyes and knowledge, you have given me yet another idea to add to my crochet bucket list. Keep adding and I will have to live to be 545 years old to compete my list lol
