Wool And The Gang: Tina Tape Yarn Review + Giveaway
Growing up in Australia I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t surrounded by towering eucalyptus trees… At every family holiday, in each painting my mother meticulously painted and every picnic I attended they were present and accounted for. They are as much a part of me as a crochet hook and a ball of yarn are.
When I heard that Wool And The Gang were getting ready to release a yarn crafted from eucalyptus trees I excitedly jumped at the opportunity to try my hand at crocheting with a part of my Australian heritage! The day my balls of Tina Tape arrived, I eagerly opened the box and couldn’t wait to get started!.. I’ve never really crocheted with tape yarns before, so there was an added element of excitement to finally be able to see, touch and work with this yarn in person for the very first time.
For those of you that don’t know, Tina Tape Yarn uses renewable energy as it is manufactured in a closed-loop system (meaning resources like water and solvents get reused instead of ending up as pollution and waste). Not only is this tape yarn incredibly soft on your skin, it is equally soft on your conscience as it is 100% vegan, uses non of those harmful chemicals and saves water… I’m excitedly looking forward to the day when all yarn is sustainably and ethically made!
The colours I chose to try out were “Dusty Blue”, “Eucalyptus Green” and “Rocky Grey”, which as you can clearly see in the photos pair beautifully together! Tina Tape has a very unique, silk-like texture to it (making my crochet project immensely soft), whilst still remaining sturdy and easy to work with as the flat tape smoothly glides over your hook… Did I mention this yarn also has incredible stitch definition?!
If you’ve never heard of Wool And The Gang, you’ve been missing out! Their website is overflowing with beautiful yarns and modern knitting and crochet pattern kits, with each project featuring a unique and creative twist!.. I also love the fact that they have something for everyone – from the most experienced crocheters to absolute beginners.
Due to all this creativity, I’ve partnered with Wool And The Gang to give YOU the chance to win 3 skeins of their new Tina Tape Yarn to try out yourself!
Not only is this scrumptious yarn available in more than 5 unique colours to pick and choose from, but since the flat tape is softer than silk and cooler than linen it makes it perfect for crocheting tops, dresses and sweaters… Making this is a great opportunity to get your hands on some!

I'd like to try the rocky grey. I'm so curious about how these would feel. I'm in Brisbane so I've seen plenty of these trees around, and I would never have thought of turning them into yarn like this. (I'm trying to get this to use my blog (http://nerdishdelights.com) but it keeps going back to my google profile, and then it doesn't want to post)

I too would chose the green. Something about a minty color always makes me think of babies and since I'm having a new granddaughter in Oct/Nov mint is lovely, thanks for the opportunity.

I'd love the Eucalyptus Green. It's not showing on the website, so I'd take the Vitamin C Orange from what's shown there.

Oh my! Gorgeous yarn and colors! All the colors are lovely, but the blue and green are my favorites, and I've had such a hard time choosing between them. I think I'll go with the Dusty Blue. The sheen and texture of this tape looks like it would have the most wonderful feel to it.
