Mia Headband Crochet Pattern
Ever since LoveCrochet let me know that they would love to send me some of their newest colours from the “MillaMia” yarn range to try out, I’ve been extremely excited to get my fingers on it and hooks in it!
I frequently work with merino wool when designing, which made me extra keen to see how this wool stacked up against some of my usual favourites.
These are only some of the colours available, but as you can already see, the colours are very elegant and rich which would make any project pop! The wool is just as soft and squishy as you’d expect from looking at the pictures and comes in two different weights, Sports weight as well as Aran weight.
Here are some of my thoughts about this yarn in particular…
– It has been a very long time since I’ve found such luxuriously soft and luscious merino wool! Over the years I’ve far too often found most merino wools to have an obvious ‘scratchiness’ to it, which I dislike with a passion when attempting to create a snuggly beanie or baby blanket. In other words, I was pleasantly surprised by just how soft this wool was and how smoothly it glides over a crochet hook… Here they did a very good job of developing a yarn base that provides warmth and comfort.
– Despite being soft as a cloud, this wool (especially the Aran weight) has a lovely thickness and warmth to it. The stitch definition is also a great perk!
– Each skein is only 87 yards (136 for sports weight) in length, but you’d be amazed by just how many different things you could crochet with that yardage!
– The wool is unfortunately on the pricier side, but I personally feel it’s well worth the cost as in return you get some beautiful (and premium) Scandinavian wooly goodness! It’s not often that you find such a lovely assortment of colours in any line of wool, and as you all know, I love me some colour.
So without further ado, here is my latest pattern for an adorable headband which features this lovely yarn seen above!

Hi I can’t see where is the camel stitch and the hdc on the main part of the headband. I just see SC on back loop. In the pattern says SC wnd then sleep stitch on the first hdc??? I can’t understand.

The pattern doesn’t seem to be correct. You explain what a camel stitch is but then it’s not in the pattern! There is a blsc in the pattern but this is not explained in the abbreviations. Plus in the pattern it says about slst into hdc but there is no hdc stitches. It’s all very confusing. I see another comment about this back in January 2019 but no corrections have been made. I’m hoping you read the comments and this can be corrected. For some one who would be new to crochet this pattern would be very off-putting, fortunately I have been crocheting for many years so I can figure it out. It’s a very beautiful headband and look forward to making and wearing it! Thanks.

Were you able to follow the instructions for the beautiful flower? I tried this past week, but I did not end up with anything that looked similar to the picture. Can you suggest any videos that would help me figure this out? You stated that the pattern was incorrect. Is the same true for the flower? Any help would be appreciated!

I am very new to crochet, but I decided to try this headband as a way of proving to myself that I could actually make something. Unfortunately, the band twisted when connecting the front loop to the back loop. I had to look up how to do a back loop single stitch via YouTube, but I did not completely understand it until my 4th round. Finally, I tried the flower but when following the instructions I did not end up with a filled in circle but rather a mess. I would suggest making a video tutorial of how to make this beautiful flower…especially if this is meant to be an easy project. I ended up substituting a rose instead since there was a video on that. Thank you for helping me to learn new skills!
