I make hats for the NICU, as they are so tiny. For those babies that don't make it, the tiny hats give the parents a momento.

I learned way back in college 20+ years ago, that crochet was a wonderful way to relax. It's now my go to way to calm down after a stressful day. And then I end up with beautiful things to give away or keep for myself. You have created many beautiful items with easy patterns and now my girls are excited to crochet in the evenings.

My favorite thing to crochet for babies is full sets (I.e. dress, bonnet, shoes, vinyl, and diaper cover … of course for a boy I'd exchange the dress and diaper cover for a shirt and little pants or cover.

a matching set of booties and a hat are always great things to make for a baby. They work up quickly and don't require a lot of yarn to complete, plus they are so adorable when babies wear them too
