Growing up, every night my mum would read with my brother and myself. She really taught us a not only a love for learning, but also a love and appreciation for books.
So it should come as no big surprise that I was a big (ok massive) fan of Dr. Suess, and all the amazing books he wrote.
One of my all-time favourite books of his just so happened to be “The Cat In The Hat”, which obviously helped to inspire these little cuties below!

~ Numbered Circle ~

Then crochet 2 Half Double Crochets in the next stitch. Repeat from the * all around. Slip Stitch into the first half double crochet. You should have 40 half double crochets now.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Now taking your tapestry needle and some black yarn, stitch either the number “1” or “2” onto the front of the numbered circle.
Once you’ve finished stitching the number, sew the numbered circle onto the front of the hat.

Then make a Pom Pom using your turquoise yarn. I used a pom pom maker, but if you don’t have one you can
easily make one using THIS video tutorial. {Note: My Pom Pom measured 3.5 inches x 3.5 inches.}
Taking your tapestry/wool needle, attach the pom pom to the very top of your hat.

Hope you all enjoyed this Dr. Suess inspired pattern!

If you did crochet this, please post a photo of your creation onto my Facebook Page.
I’d love to see it!
Have a lovely day crocheting,
