Newborn Apple Hat Crochet Pattern

Whenever I see an apple I can’t help but think of the young Isaac Newton who spotted a falling apple, and wasn’t content just living in ignorance as to why it fell, but was curious and wanted answers.
I think it’s such a constant and wonderful reminder how it is physically impossible for us to know everything, so we should never shy away from learning no matter what our age!

What You’ll Need

7.00mm Crochet Hook
5.00mm Crochet Hook
60g Red Bulky Yarn {12ply}
10g DK Yarn {8ply}
Scissors
Tapestry/Wool Needle
Finished Size
Newborn, 0 – 3 Months Old
{Head Circumference 13.5 inches, 34cm. Hat Height 5.5 inches, 14cm}

Colours
{This is the list of colours I used}
Ruby Red – 12ply
Chocolate Brown – 8ply
Moss Green – 8ply

Note

{Chains at the start of a round count as the first Half Double Crochet of that round}

    Hello. This a really cute hat but had question about pattern. Pattern says to make 3 leaves but picture only shows one. Do you have image showing 3 leaves? Just trying to figure if 3 needed and how placement would be. Thank you

      Hello!
      My original plan was to add 3 leaves, but I liked just adding 1 leaf more. Unfortunately I forgot to update the post, whoopsy!
      Thank you so much for pointing it out to me, I've gone ahead and edited the post 🙂
      Have a lovely day,
      Olivia
