Cozy Newborn Pom-Pom Hat Crochet Pattern

Who here can resist cuddling a baby? I know I can't!
They're so soft and smell so fresh, I can't help but want to snuggle them and kiss their rosy little cheeks all day long. Now the question is, what could be better than a soft little newborn?.. Oh, I know! A soft little newborn wearing a super fluffy pom-pom hat!
You see, the moment I discovered this yarn I immediately knew it was meant to create a baby hat. It's probably the softest yarn I own which makes it perfect for keeping a tiny one warm and cozy!
What's your favourite yarn to use when crocheting for a baby?

What You'll Need
6.00mm Crochet Hook
75g Worsted "Thick-Thin" Yarn {I used Lincraft's Big Wool}
Pompom Maker
Tapestry Needle

Finished Size
Newborn, 0 - 3 Months Old
{Head Circumference 13.5 inches, 34cm. Hat Height 5.5 inches, 14cm}

~ Note ~
{Chains at the start of a round count as the first Double Crochet of that round}

Round 1~ Taking your 6.00mm crochet hook and worsted yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 2 Chains. Crochet 9 Double Crochets into the first chain you made. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 2. You should have 10 double crochets now.
Round 2~ Chain 2, then crochet a Double Crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 2 Double Crochets into every stitch all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 2. You should have 20 double crochets now.
Round 3~ Chain 2, then crochet a Double Crochet into the same stitch. *Crochet 1 Double Crochet. Then crochet 2 Double Crochets in the next stitch. Repeat from the * all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 2. You should have 30 double crochets now.
Round 4 - 8~ Chain 2. Crochet 1 Double Crochet into every stitch all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 2.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
Then make a Pom Pom using your yarn. I used a pom pom maker, but if you don't have one you can easily make one using THIS video tutorial.

Taking your tapestry/wool needle, attach the pom pom to the very top of your hat.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Hope you all enjoyed this cozy little pattern!
