Time to Create! ~ Basic Beanie Crochet Pattern
I love crocheting! I know I’ve said this many times before, but I think every time I say it I love it that little bit more!
It’s fun and exciting knowing that whenever you pick up your crochet hook and yarn that you’ll soon be creating something beautiful and amazing! I also love the fact that it gives me the ability to make things for my friends and family. Actually at the moment I’m busy making 4 different projects for my nearest and dearest haha
Another thing I love about crocheting is that I can let my creative juices ooze out into my fingers and create new patterns!… Now I do get very frustrated when I don’t get my pattern right the first time lol but “No great thing is created suddenly.” So seeing as I’m a persistent person, I keep trying till I finally get it!
This is happens to be one of those ‘new’ patterns 🙂
{I just made a smaller version for my sister to model}

This is a lovely hat, thanks for sharing the pattern and your work!
Aw thank you! 🙂 Xx
Just what I've beenlooking for. Thanks!!!
🙂
How fun, I can't wait to make several – you have such a wonderful, creative mind – thank God you share that with us!!
I love to crochet too – sometimes I just want to shout how much joy I feel about it, and am sad, when things I make and give don't get the same reaction, but then I remember that most gifts are that way!!!
I spent months making Tusinian purses for my teenage granddaughters and they looked at them and said "oh! nice" and walked away, so I packed them up and brought them home!! OH well, maybe I can sell them!!

Aww thank you! You are too sweet! 🙂
Well at least you get a lot of joy out of making it, so in the end it's worth it, don't you think?
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm actually 16 if you didn't know, but I love making things and receiving things people made for me! I love knowing that someone loves me so much they would put the time and effort into making it for me 🙂
I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day!
Olivia Xxx

Hey! Have you ever thought, has your writting level upgraded recently?
Hi!
I'm not sure I understand your question properly, but thanks for stopping by!
Olivia Xx
like the hat patterns very much, but what is 8 ply yarn?
8ply yarn is also known as DK (Double Knitting) yarn.
Hi
This isn't the beanie I was looking for. I was looking at how to put the border On the Flower. Sorry but I can not find names to identify your hats but it is green with pink border. I love it and would like to find the pattern.
You are a real artist.
Thank You
Deb
Hi Deb,
Here is the link to the pattern I believe you're talking about ~ http://www.hopefulhoney.com/2012/07/little-things-how-to-add-border-to.html
I actually used the pattern of the beanie above, but I just changed the colour of the ribbing/border.
Have a wonderful day,
Olivia Xx
Are these pics of your sister?
if I have red heart super saver yarn in med ,should I change my hook size… i use #6 .
I have started and it looks like a big circle at row 8 . help….tks
Olivia –
When you say to do a double crochet decrease in the next 2 stitches, do you mean just do one double crochet decrease (because one double crochet decrease requires going through 2 stitches already) or did you mean doing 2 double crochet decreases in a row?
I mean do ONE double crochet, which involves using 2 stitches 🙂
Sorry about the confusion! This is one of my earlier patterns, and I didn't have a lot of experience writing patterns back then.
Olivia
Olivia,
I think you are very talented young lady! Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful pattern!
I want to ask you how many inches is the hat circumference?
Ivanka
Should I have 2 dc then 7 dc all the way around row 6 at the end I only have 3 left?
Thanks
Made a beautiful cap for my friends great grandson- looks great!!!
I noticed this pattern is for 13 years up. Do you have a pattern for age 6-8?
nice post . great designs i really like it
great post.its really baeutiful
I know this is an older post, but I just came across it looking for a simple pattern I can make quickly and adapt to different yarns. I’m burning through my stash by making hats to donate to a local homeless shelter, and these are great for kids, and can be adjusted for several sizes. Thank you, they’re adorable, and i can crank em out pretty quickly.
