I can’t get this right and I’m no beginner. How does the style end on 46 and the top start on 45.. I love the shoes but I’m not spending anymore time trying to figure out where it’s gone wrong. If you fix the pattern please alert us. I’d really love to make them for my first granddaughter. They’re truly adorable. Thank you

I had this exact problem yesterday, until i. Realised that there is 1sc at the beginning of the round you need to count, so it makes the whole round 46 stitches.

The problem is in the round 3 of the sole. In the last part you have mentioned 2hdc and 1hdc and you have asked to repeate it 3 times. So I figured out that repeating 3 times exceeds 46 stitches and does not meet the first stitch of the same round. If you don’t repeate then it comes down to 46 and meets the first stitch for joining with sl.

On round four of the top in ecru shouldn’t there be a skip st between the sc after the chain 4. I sc in every sc around and mine didn’t look at all like yours! I skipped a stitch and it does. Thank you

Here’s a fix for the errors in rows 5-8:

Rnd 6 [7]: Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 1 sc in next 13 [15] sts. 7 sc2tog. 1 sc in next 11 [13]. 1 sc2tog. Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. (32 [36] sts)

Rnd 7 [8]: Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 1 sc in next 12 [14] sts. 4 dc2tog. 1 sc in next 12 [14] sts. Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. (28 [32] sts)

I did an additional row for the larger size to reduce it again to 28 sts. because 32 produced too baggy of a cuff:

Rnd 7 [8]: Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 1 sc in next 13 sts. 4 dc2tog. 1 sc in next 11 sts. (28 sts)

there r no dc on round 6 to do tog on rnd 7.

I’m basically a beginner and I’ve ripped out many times and I’m only on the sole!!!! I YouTubed, double checked I was interpreting 2nd from hook… previous row, etc. I’ve lost my mind! I NEVER end same place as pattern. I count correct stitches then end with different total! Need a video to see what the heck I’m doing. Ahhh! I love these booties so much want for a shower !

Love this pattern! I was asked to make 20 booties for a baby shower and these were such a hit! (Glad I found the revisions for rows 6 and 7). Wish I could add a picture of all the booties I made.
I did make my own changes to this pattern…
Instead of fastening off at the end of the sole, I made an invisible join so that sole was more flush at the last stitch.
I also simply changed colors going from the top of the bootie into the trim. This just made it easier for since I had so many to make.
      Thank you for this pattern!

I was never able to make the sole work. Tried too many times. Can’t get it and I’m so sad! Website owner hasn’t responded to my comments or emails unfortunately. Wish she would see the comments and help those of us that need it. Can I ask how you make the sole? Do you mind sharing? Also, if you have a ravelry.com account, I think this pattern is on there and you can share pics there. People love to see others creations. I know I would enjoy seeing!

I made these out of Red Heart yarn and I didn't like them. I am not a fan of acrylic yarn, but anyway, I thought a thinner yarn would look better, so I used Loops & Threads super fine yarn, I used 2 strands and they turned out smaller than the pattern size I made (I expected that) but they are cute.

Just finished crocheting this bootie, Olivia. It is just darling! Thank you so much for sharing your pattern and talent. I did notice a couple errors in the PDF file though. In round 6 it states to 1 sc2tog at the end of the round which shouldn't be as there isn't two stitches left to do this. Also, in row 4 of the cuff, it states to sc in first stitch, chain 4, sc in next stitch and repeat 14 times. Should it not read sc in first stitch, chain 4, skip next stitch and sc in the next stitch? Otherwise you would have 28 scallops instead of 14.

Indeed, I noticed the error in row 6 as well and planned to solve this the same way you proposed.

I also have a problem with row 5 of the 'top op shoe': if my calculations are correct, this row would require 46 stitches on row 4: 15 + (6 * (2 + 1)) + 13 = 46. But changing the instructions would result in a wrong amount of stitches for row 5.

      Am I right?
How did you guys solve this?

These are really cute but so far I haven’t found a correction regarding the count of stitches in the pattern. There is one incorrect row in the pattern for the sole and I think 3 incorrect rows in the top of the bootie. It took me quite awhile to figure it out so they wouldn’t be lopsided. She creates beautiful things but it is so frustrating to find the stitch count is incorrect! Wish she would post a correction for them.

I had no problems with the pattern until Rnd 6(7). In an earlier post by Beck Jo Oct 2016 who pointed out the 1sc2tog at the end of the round should be omitted. When doing that, the pattern works out lovely.
With Rnd 5 (6) ..did you check you had 46 (50) stitches when you started the round. Hope you can sort it out.
This would be my favourite bootie pattern…love it, thanks Olivia

It’s working out now. I had to slightly adjust the sc in rnd 5(6) and rnd 6(7) in order to “center” the sc2tog & dc2tog at toe of bootie. I also deleted the last 1sc2tog at end of round.
          Thanks for your response!

I just finished one of these booties after ripping apart the shoe the first 9 times and it turned out perfect! Read and follow the instructions CAREFULLY! I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn, medium 4 acrylic yarn and a “C” 2.75 mm hook to achieve the right size. It still looks a little too big for a newborn so I will try to make it again with a thinner yarn. I think 11 chains is too many for the sole as most newborn shoes use a maximum of 9 chains to begin with. I will try to decrease the entire pattern to make it smaller.

I think, maybe, the end of the 5th round should be 39 sts for the first size, not 40. I end my 4th round with 45 sts, which is what it says, but in round 5 you’re decreasing 6sts, which would bring it to 39

I can’t figure out if the pattern has been adjusted or not from the comments left. I too am struggling to get the right number of stitches left when working from row 5 on. I’m not a novice crocheter, but am not comfortable going outside of the pattern. But, after frogging several times, I will set this down, and hope that someone responds and sets me straight! Thank you for the lovely bootie pattern.

Hello, I’m making the larger size and have a problem with Row 3. In Row 2 you end up with 40 stitches. If you follow the instructions for Row 3 you end up with too many stitches if you do the last repeat 3 more times. If I leave that out I end up with 50 stitches like it says. Is that a misprint? (Repeat from the * 3 times.)

This pattern has a lot of errors and will not turn out right if you follow it explicitly, but if you are good at improvising then these are some of the cutest baby booties I’ve ever seen! I simple centered the 2tog stitches instead of following the stitch count in the pattern, and it turned out great. I added an extra sc2tog on the inside of each boot to make a right and a left. They made a perfect baby shower gift!

I made mine for a boy with mint green Bernat Softees baby yarn, and yellow yarn sole and trim.
