Alsace Poncho Crochet Pattern

Lazy and golden, the late afternoon sun slowly creeps behind the distant mountains, painting the rolling vineyards in bursts of warm sunlight. Nestled in amongst the vines a quiet picnic greets you with the promise of a peaceful evening and a glass of wine as you admire the quaint little French town below.

Elevate any outfit with the luxurious Alsace Poncho, whether you’re wearing it to gently cover chilly shoulders or as a fashionable accent to a simple everyday ensemble. The classic cowl neck compliments the boxy silhouette harmoniously, whilst the unique bobble design adds even more timeless charm and character to this already stylish and dramatic layering piece.

Lightweight, warm, and effortlessly chic, the Alsace Poncho is the perfect companion for a stroll through quiet cobblestone streets or a delightful afternoon of wine tasting with friends as you wander throughout Europe.

Worked up in the age-old classic Heartland, the fabric that resulted is lightweight and stretchy, helping to provide warmth when draped over the shoulders, whilst still offering effortless movement when layered over some jeans and sleek boots.

The richness and beautiful earthy tones of this “Mammoth Cave” colorway is reminiscent of sturdy cobblestone streets and whimsical country cottages, creating the ideal everyday neutral layering piece.

Because of the unique ‘diamond design’ I’d consider this an easy pattern, but an ambitious beginner may be able to tackle this one as I’ve also included a ton of how-to photos to help make the learning process all the more enjoyable. Ready to embark on this new crochet pattern? You can find the free pattern below, and as always you can purchase an ad-free, printable PDF version here, or grab the yarn kit from Lion Brand here.

Living in Wyoming, USA, it’s frequently too cold for a poncho. But this would be nice for spring and summer if the wind isn’t to gusty!!! Eager to start it!

Olivia! This poncho is awesome as well as the imagination and beautiful description of the French countryside. You have a writer’s talent and should seriously consider writing a novel! What an amazing and talented person you are! I could only wish I had that kind of talent! Love your crochet patterns too!

I am very impressed with your overcoat, it is very nice and warm. How long did you hang this shirt?
