How To: Crochet The Solid Shell Stitch – Easy Tutorial

The Solid Shell Stitch is one of the easiest stitches to learn, as the stitch basically just incorporates Single Crochets and Double Crochets, which means that once you understand the basics of crochet it’ll only take a bit of practise to master the solid shell stitch!

I’ve always loved all the different types of shell stitches that crochet has to offer, as they always create such beautiful (and unique) scarves and blankets!

If you’d like to learn how to create the “Solid Shell Stitch“, this helpful video will guide you through all the steps as you continue on your ever-growing crochet journey!

What are some other crochet stitches you’d like to learn?
I’m always open to new ideas and inspiration when it comes to sharing
crochet with the world!

Hey Olivia, I love your tutorials, so easy to follow. One question I have….where did you get the crochet hook that is in your examples? I love it and would not mind getting one for myself.

What size hook were you using?

Lovely pattern, I've only done the shell with 3dc-ch1-3dc. But I like this better–fewer holes! Could you post a short written pattern to go by? I tried to write it down thru the video–but got confused. Just a reminder of the order/number of stitches to make pattern in ea row. Lovely work and your videos are so helpful too! Thanks for posting.

Written instructions added would be so helpful. I don't learn well by video alone. Otherwise your website is great.

Do you have the pattern written down anywhere I would be able to find it? I’d like to pass this one along to somebody but they don’t have a computer to view your very helpful video!
