DIY Rainbow Button Phone Case

Do you want to know what I love more than buttons?.. Rainbows! So put the two together and you've got something magical!

You see, recently I've been on the hunt for a new phone case, but surprise surprise there weren't that many unique ones available at the stores. So I switched the search to online, only to realize that not only do quirky cases cost a lot more, but since I live in Australia I'd have to pay a fortune in shipping!
This shortage quickly prompted me to create this lovely little rainbow button case you see below!

Do you also have difficulty finding cute phone cases?

What You'll Need
Handful Of Differently Coloured Buttons
Craft Glue
Clear/Acrylic Phone Case

~ Tutorial ~

Step 1~ Start of by sorting through your coloured buttons and selecting the ones you'd like to use. You're going to be alternating between small and medium sized buttons, so try to stay away from large buttons.
Step 2~ Do a quick test run of arranging the buttons onto the phone case, in a gradient rainbow effect. This is the perfect time to make sure you'll have no big gaps between your buttons, as well as make sure you have enough of each color button.

Step 3~ Carefully place a small dot of glue beneath each button, before gently pressing the button onto the case. {Note: Try working in rows, instead of gluing all your buttons onto the case at once. This will help prevent mistakes.}
Step 4~ Let your button phone case dry for a full day to make sure it's completely dry. Then you can slip your new case onto your phone!

Optional: If you're phone is black like mine, I'd suggest gluing white paper on the inside of the case so that the rainbow stands out even more. You can find a tutorial HERE.

Hope you all enjoyed this quick rainbow-y tutorial!

I'd love to see it!
Have a lovely day crafting,

  1. This looks so cute. I have so many buttons lying around that I never use, one of these would be the perfect way to use some of them up.

  3. This is such an unique idea! I love it. I always have to look online to find cases I like. The ones in the store are always boring.
