Aww, thank you Sarah! 🙂

Can worsted weight yarn be substituted?
Olivia says
Yes, but you'll have to use 2 strands while crocheting, instead of 1. If you don't mind your cowl being thinner, 1 strand is also ok, but it won't have the same chunky-iness and thickness.
Olivia 🙂

Olivia, thank you so much for sharing. If you don't mind, can you share how you did the color changes? Meaning, did you carry the yarn up the sides/end of rows?
Olivia says
Hi Tasha,
Here is a video tutorial with the method I used for changing colours ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm-OCqPaIkY

This is beautiful!
Can it be worked up as a circle instead of weaving it together at the end?
Olivia says
Yes, if you attach the base chains together with a slip stitch.

Are the stitches written in American terms?
Olivia says
US Terms

It looks like the honey color you used 2 strands. It doesn't say so in the instructions. Is the correct or am I just looking at it wrong. Very pretty cowl. My daughter loves wearing these and I would like to make her one of these.
Olivia says
Hi Donna,
I used 2 strands of 8ply honey yarn. I did this because I didn't have any chunkier honey coloured yarn.
Hope this helps!

Hi Olivia: Thank you for sharing your patterns. My grandchildren love these things. How can I get the directions to my printer though. I would like to copy the instructions to my printer. What letter crochet hook is a 12.00? Patti
Olivia says
Hello Patti,
I'm not sure what letter a 12.00mm crochet hook is, sorry!
Just click right, copy the instructions, then paste them into a word document before printing.
Hope this helps!

Hey Olivia I'm a new self taught crocheters. I have been on a cowl making kick. I want to make this one. I'm making mine in the round. Just starting on the 3rd row. I must be drawing a blank, I just don't understand the directions for this row. Can you please help me with it?

Hi Olivia ! I just wanted to say this is BEAUTIFUL! You are so talented with color combinations and stitch combinations. I went out to google to see if I could help answer everyone's q about the size 12 hook, and I couldn't find any charts that had 12 on any measurement (mm, US, or UK ?)
Is it maybe that super big one, the "speed hook" it's sometimes called?
Olivia says
Hi Stacy,
Aww, thank you!
I'm not sure if it's called a speed hook, but this is the hook I use ~ http://www.hookedonyarn.com.au/12mm-bamboo-crochet-hook/

I just discovered this cowl and I'm in love with the combination of colors, my first thought when I saw it was: Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent remember! I'll do it one for myself this weekend! Thanks for sharing your beautiful job.
